One great advantage to Mirror Lake is that even though it is a state park, it has very little fishing pressure. In the lake you will find Northern Pike, stocked walleye, largemouth Bass and a variety of pan fish. The edges of the lake can become quite weedy and are good spots to start fishing the lake. Look for open areas in the weeds. Ice fishing is fair in the northwest corner of the lake.

Mirror lake is actually a 137 acre impoundment of Dell Creek which flows through lake Delton before entering the Wisconsin river. There are 2 shallow reedy bays in Mirror Lake. The remainder of the lake averages about 10 – 14 feet deep.

According to the Park Visitor, Large mouth bass are abundant with a good buildup of fish under the 14″ minimum size limit. You will also find Bluegill, Bass, Northern Pike (with some females over 30″), Walleye, and an assortment of pan fish.

Dell Creek

Dell Creek is a trout stream that flows into Mirror Lake. It is 10 and 1/2 miles long. Most of the stream banks are state owned. The stream has been stocked typically with 5,000 fall fingerlings, and 3,000 spring yearlings. The stream between Hwy. 23 and South Avenue is a ‘no kill zone’ upstream from South Avenue a 9″ size limit and 3 daily bag limit applies. The current season runs from the first Saturday in May to September 30th. You will need an Inland Trout Stamp to fish this stream.
